MSA Education

enabling peer support for male survivors

Male Survivors Aotearoa (MSA) is a registered charitable trust that operates across Aotearoa through a network of eleven member organisations (MMO) to provide a "sustainable national network of appropriate, high quality support services" with a focus on "enabling the wellbeing of male survivors of sexual violence"

Four the last five years MSA has been engaged in building the capacity and capability of the MMO workforce by providing residential training courses to upskill our peer workers in the principles and practices of:

  • Intentional Peer Support
  • Reflective Practice
  • Working with peer support groups

More recently MSA has been developing a series of on-line e-learning courses to supplement the residential training programs. The current e-learning development program is currently focussed on the following key areas of peer support practice:

  • Supervision for Peer Workers (launched)
  • Engaging with survivors (in development)
  • Navigating disclosure (in planning)
  • Developing wellbeing plans (in planning)

These e-learning courses are available free of charge to MSA and MMO people and available to other interested parties for the payment of a fee.
